Astra is a community-oriented social supercomputer where every day people will be able to gather to build one of the strongest supercomputers in the world. Initially, Astra planned to use a decentralized computing platform for scientific discovery and make collective social truths. Where people can share their computing power for medical research, scientific discoveries and to build reliable public data repositories (or blockchains), and obtain valuable digital currencies.

Astra aims to build a social computing platform where everyone around the world can share their backup computing resources to make one of the fastest supercomputers in the world. Astra also uses the Deep Learning technique to convert Disperse Dynamic Networks to become high-performance computing networks so that they can run computing tasks in parallel efficiently. At present, Astra is turning the “Dispersed Dynamic Network” around the world into a reliable network for parallel scientific computing. We call it a reliable network: “Global Social Supercomputer.” The Social in this sentence implies Decentralized or Dispersed.
Traditional cloud computing infrastructure is very homogeneous with identical components that are close to each other. Their performance and availability are highly predictable. But on the contrary, Decentralized Cloud consists of equipment contributions from people around the world with Dispersed and Dynamic properties.
Astra continues to monitor the Dispersed Dynamic Network’s health and uses Deep Learning techniques to be able to identify the most predictable and reliable sub-networks for specific parallel computing tasks. This sub-network is likely to be available with high-speed computing nodes and bandwidth links during the time required for parallel computing tasks.
